John Krasinski Named People’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive
John Krasinski has been crowned People’s sexiest man alive for 2024.
The news was announced Tuesday night during “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
“Just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts,” Krasinski told People when he learned that he would be this year’s honoree. “Other than maybe I’m being punked. That’s not how I wake up, thinking, ‘Is this the day that I’ll be asked to be Sexiest Man Alive?’ And yet it was the day you guys did it. You guys have really raised the bar for me.”
According to Krasinski, his wife Emily Blunt was “very excited” when she heard the news. “There was a lot of joy involved in me telling her,” he told People in this week’s cover story.
Krasinski is known for playing paper salesman Jim Halpert on the U.S. version of the mockumentary sitcom “The Office.” He also directed, co-wrote and starred in 2018’s “A Quiet Place” and its 2020 sequel.
The sexiest man alive feature has been an annual event for People magazine since the award’s inception in 1985 with inaugural winner Mel Gibson at age 29. Last year’s honoree was Patrick Dempsey, while other recent winners include Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, Paul Rudd, John Legend and Idris Elba.
People’s sexiest man alive issue, featuring an interview with Krasinski, hits newsstands Friday.
