Cineflix Studios Launches Vancouver Officer Led by Mark Miller
Cineflix Media, a leading independent producer and distributor, is expanding its operations by opening a Vancouver branch of Cineflix Studios run by industry veteran Mark Miller.
The Vancouver office will “focus on producing and co-producing scripted series, movies, and factual content for North American and international streamers and broadcasters,” according to a press release. Miller will serve as president and report to Cineflix Media co-founder and CEO Glen Salzman.
Over the past few years, Cineflix Media has built up its production business in North America and Europe, which encompasses Cineflix Studios (“Tehran,” “Reginald the Vampire“) and Cineflix Productions (“American Pickers,” “Air Crash Investigation”). The company also has joint ventures with C3 Media (“So Long, Marianne”) and Buccaneer (“The Burning Girls”) as well as a creative partnership with December Films (“Reginald the Vampire”).
Miller most recently served in a dual role as president of Thunderbird Entertainment Group and CEO of Great Pacific Media, where he executive produced shows like “Kim’s Convenience” for CBC and Netflix. Miller also played a part in securing the rights to make “Blade Runner 2049” and developed the Netflix animated series “Beat Bugs” based on the Beatles’ music.
“Launching a Cineflix base in Vancouver will open up opportunities to increase our production capabilities and also provide a valuable, ideally positioned co-production hub for our creative partners in Canada, the West Coast of the U.S., and beyond,” Salzman said in a statement. “I’m delighted that Mark, who has such a wealth of experience overseeing high-profile, successful scripted and factual productions, will be joining us to run the new division.”
Miller added, “I’m excited to be joining the Cineflix Media group and looking forward to the opportunity to deliver more of the standout content for which the company is globally renowned, and especially to forming close and mutually beneficial relationships with creative partners through the launch of Cineflix Studios Vancouver.”
